Ice Maker General
Maintenance Tips
On a weekly
basis you should ideally do the following:
- Turn off the
ice maker at the mains,
- Empty ice
bin, if not convenient to discard ice, you can transfer to a clean plastic
bag and store in a freezer until cleaning process is complete,
- If possible
remove plastic water curtain (note some makes do not have this facility so
check before pulling out), if you can remove, remember which way round the
curtain goes for refitting (incorrect fitting can cause ice formation problems),
- Wash down
the inside of the bin, the curtain surround and the water curtain using a
non-abrasive cleaner,
- Check drain
in bin is not blocked by debris.
- Rinse inside
of the bin, curtain surround and water curtain thoroughly, checking that any
residue drains away properly,
- Leave to dry
naturally as using a cloth can lead to recontamination,
- Refit water
curtain - taking care to ensure it is the right way round (see item 3)
- Close the bin door and turn
machine on. For hygiene purposes, before replacing ice put into bags before
cleaning procedure, run machine through normal cycle and discard first 2 ice
harvests. Once done you can put back original ice.
-
ALWAYS KEEP BIN DOOR CLOSED,
EXCEPT WHEN GATHERING ICE.
